Tina Trujillo

Associate Professor, School of Education

Tina Trujillo is an associate professor at UC Berkeley’s School of Education. She earned her Ph.D. in education at UCLA and her M.A. in education from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has worked as a public school teacher, educational consultant, and program evaluator. She teaches Ph.D. students in policy, politics, and epistemological aspects of research. She teaches undergraduates about contemporary issues in education. As a member of the executive committee of the UC Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics (BCSP), she is exploring how BCSP’s programs can be diverse and inclusive and advance psychedelics as tools for mending individuals’ relationships to the broader living community.

Trujillo’s work has appeared in outlets including American Educational Research Journal and McSweeney’s. She is the co-editor of the books Understanding Educational Leadership: Critical Perspectives and Approaches and Learning from the Federal Market-Based Reforms: Lessons for the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
