Tom Kalil

Kaili is associate dean of engineering for multidisciplinary initiatives and former deputy assistant to President Clinton for technology and economic policy. As part of the Big Ideas @ Berkeley program, more than 100 student-led projects at Cal are addressing regional, national, and global challenges such as safe drinking water, global public health, public policy, entrepreneurship in life sciences and nanotechnology, clean energy, and sustainable development. In this talk, Kalil and some students will highlight Big Ideas projects that address pressing challenges in developing countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Sierra Leone, Nepal, Nigeria, Guatemala, and Ecuador.
