Bouncing Back: Is Economic Recovery on the Way?
In a recession this deep, recovery won't start until consumers spend money. But with home values down, unemployment up, saving for retirement, and other financial strains, consumers will be shoveling out of debt for years. What will fuel the recovery, and when will a new economy begin?

Robert Reich
Professor of public policy, Reich served as secretary of labor under President Clinton, as well as on the transition team for President Obama. He comments regularly on National Public Radio’s “Marketplace.” His latest book is Supercapitalism.
Henry E. Brady
Professor of public policy, Brady is a leading scholar of electoral politics and political participation, social welfare policy, and computer management of social programs. He was appointed dean of the top-ranked Goldman School of Public Policy this spring.
