Q: What is Discover Cal? Discover Cal is a traveling lecture series that brings UC Berkeley's distinguished faculty to the extended Cal family for provocative lectures in an informal setting.

Q: Who produces the lecture series? Discover Cal is brought to you by University Development and Alumni Relations at UC Berkeley.

Q: May I suggest future topics? Yes, please visit our feedback page to submit your suggestions.

Q: How can I make a gift to Cal? You can make a gift through the Give to Cal website at givetocal.berkeley.edu.

Registration

Q: Can I sign up now and pay later? The $25 ($30 at the door) fee is due at the time of registration. You can pay by cash, check, or credit card. Note: only cash and checks are accepted at the door.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of friends I can bring with me? Do they have to be Cal parents and/or alumni? There is no limit on the number of guests as long as there is availability. Guests do not have to be Cal parents and/or alumni.

Q: My guest can no longer attend. May I bring a different guest? Yes.

Q: Can I get a refund? Refunds are available one week prior to the event. If you cancel one to six days prior to the event, registration fees may be applied to future Discover Cal events. There are no refunds the day of the event.

Q: Can I register at the door? If there is space available you may register onsite. The fee is $30. Only cash or a check is accepted.

Venue Information

Q: How do I find directions to the venue and where do I park? Visit the individual event information page (ex. New York) and click on the venue for directions. Below the venue information parking information will be noted.

Reception

Q: Should I eat before I come? There will be a light fare and no-host bar at the reception prior to the lecture.

Q: What should I wear? The recommended attire for this event is business casual.
